Do I have to have my domain names transferred from my GoDaddy account, over to my Moniker account, in order to submit those domains for the upcoming Global Fest live auction (Jan '09)? I called Moniker support, but only received a recording, and it said that someone would get back to me. They haven't... Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks!
I don't believe you have to change a DN over to put it up for auction with Moniker. When they selected one of my names for this week's auction they sent an email stating...that if I wanted to avoid a $100 transfer fee,... if the name sold...I would need to transfer it to Moniker before it sold. That transfer fee was $6.95. I think I would wait until you see if your name(s) is selected for the auction, before racking up unnecessary transfer fees. At least that has been my personal experience. Carol
I have hesitated to answer this because I am unsure of the truth. I heard once that your domain names are picked more if you have them registered with Moniker. Especially if it is to be chosen for the Live Auction... because (Moniker says) it makes the transfer to the new owner faster and more reliable.
However, the other side of me says Moniker of COURSE wants you to switch to them because it makes them money.
